All LV products are made in co-operation with the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation, which the Allergy logo is a mark for. The mark is awarded to products that have been impartially researched and proven to be safe. The mark is given to trustworthy products that fill specific criteria for products that do not in general irritate or sensitise the skin, cause fragrance sensitivity symptoms or other allergy or asthma reactions.
This symbol indicates the useful lifetime of a product after opening, in case a product has a lifetime over 30 months. It is a POA symbol (Period After Opening). The lifetime is indicated on the top of the packaging in months or years. Month may be abbreviated with the letter M.
Some chemicals have legal markings of the hazard related to a product. Due to this fact, chemicals should always be stored in their original packaging. Please read more about hazard symbols and pictograms on Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) website.
Plastic containers normally have a material labelling (of 1–7), where the letter and number combination is given inside a triangle. The labelling is not mandatory on packages, and if it isn’t found you can still recycle the plastics. All plastics except PVC plastics, marked with the label 03, are suitable for recycling. PVC is used relatively seldom for packages, but imported work tools and toys are sometimes wrapped in it. More information about plastics and their recycling is found for example on Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI’s website.
